Shaikh Amir Hussain

The full story.

How a computer-science grad in India became Dubai's mthedatawizard, and why I'm now building the AI that acts on the data I used to just report.

I'm Shaikh Amir Hussain, a Google-certified data analyst and AI developer based in Dubai. For four years my work has lived in the gap between raw data and real decisions: pulling numbers out of CRMs, dashboards and spreadsheets, and compiling them into something a business can act on with confidence.

“Better data. Automated process. Better business.”

The journey

It started at Wobot.ai in Delhi, where I cut my teeth on Power BI reporting and predictive modelling. From there to Nexford University (London, remote), where my dashboards helped drive a 46% jump in sales and admissions across ten teams. Then HSI Corporate Services in Dubai, where I unified five disconnected data sources into one source of truth and grew LinkedIn engagement 150% in six months. Today, at Confidential, I own sales-and-logistics analytics across a 60+ country distribution network.

What I actually do

I build the plumbing and the dashboards: data pipelines and ETL, CRM pipelines in Salesforce, Zoho, HubSpot and Odoo, automations in Zapier, and decision-ready reporting in Power BI and Tableau. I use advanced analytics, market insight and AI to uncover sales opportunities, sharpen marketing, and make data-driven calls that hold up. I compile complex business data into intelligence, and I make sure every decision it informs is not just good, but defensible.

The pivot to AI

The more I automated, the more I wanted the systems to reason, not just report. So I'm pursuing a Master's in Artificial Intelligence (machine learning, NLP and applied AI) and building Draftly, an open-source AI writing assistant, in the open. It's my hands-on lab for everything I'm learning: real LLM integration, real users, real edge cases.

What makes me different

I don't stop at the chart. I care about the decision the chart leads to, the workflow that follows it, and the revenue on the other side. I've built a personal brand as mthedatawizard by doing exactly that in public, and as I like to say, not a single post of mine is left unnoticed.
